This game concept was designed around the idea of a circus or carnival set in a graveyard, hence the title. The basis of the game's style would mimic this idea in dark, mostly monotone colors, haunting, low music, and narratives dealing in death.
Two projects are based upon a sample game introduction for this concept:
A sound clip
A storyboard
A sequence of images representing the visuals for "Graveyard Carnival"'s introductory soundtrack.
Setting: An old graveyard on the edge of a dark forest with a few worn and aging tents set up. The site looks to have been abandoned for years, except for a few lit well-used candles.
Corresponding Sounds: Soft rustling and wind sounds begin with a musical intro.
Sounds: Soft background continues while the music builds up.
The camera zooms closer to the two lit candles on a grave.
A figure that seems to be made up of smoke appears on the right side of the screen.
Sounds: Background and main music continue behind a voice chanting.
"Come in, come on in/To the world of freaks and fiends,"
Sounds: "Come on and taste an act that you have never seen,"
Sounds: "Come young and old, thick and lean"
Sounds: "To the circus of your dreams."
Sounds: "The Graveyard ... "
Sounds: All background noise stops. "... Circus"
